The versatile Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron who has recently appeared in Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and DC’s The Boys is coming back with the sequel of her Netflix’s The Old Guard.
Apart from Theron, other stars are slated to return including KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Writer and comic book co-creator Greg Rucka who was also involved in The original film will be present in the sequel as well.

While Gina Prince-Bythewood directed The Old Guard, Victoria Mahoney stepped in to direct the sequel from Rucka’s script. It is yet to be confirmed when the project will begin production, though if it begins shooting in the upcoming months, it would probably gonna debut on Netflix as early as next year.
Which New Cast Is Joining The Old Guard 2?
According to Deadline, Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman and Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding have joined the cast of Netflix’s anticipated sequel The Old Guard 2.
Uma Thurman is an Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner known for turns in films including Dangerous Liaisons, Pulp Fiction, Batman & Robin, Gattaca, Sweet and Lowdown, and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2, among many others. She recently portrayed Arianna Huffington in Showtime’s series Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber and is currently working on her upcoming projects.

Henry Golding on the other hand is best known for his turn as Nick Young in Warner Bros.’ Crazy Rich Asians. He will also soon be seen in Carrie Cracknell’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, Camille Delamarre’s action pic Assassin Club, the Paramount animated film The Tiger’s Apprentice; and Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater’s drama Downtown Owl for Sony.
When Will The Production Of The Old Guard 2 begin?
Though the two new significant cast leads have been disclosed, The Old Guard 2 does not have a release date or even a production start date, but with information now getting disclosed from the franchise, it might be possible that the production will start in the next few months for a next year release.
