The film has been immensely loved by the fans as it perfectly blended Greek mythology with a modern and witty twist. Now, Disney wants to recreate the same success, as it wants to retell the legendary tale by showcasing an authentic version of the legendary figure. Disney Executives want the casting to be perfect and it is believed by an industry insider that Dua Lipa would be a great fit for the role of Megara/Meg.
However, fans of the film believe another pop star would be a better choice for the role as they collectively share their opinion on social media.
Hercules Live-Action Film Reportedly Eyes Dua Lipa For The Role of Megara
One of the key reasons for the popularity of the Disney Hercules film was because of the character of Megara/ Meg. She was witty, independent, and different from other animated film characters. Moreover, fans enjoyed her backstory and as the film progressed her character also developed which contributed to her popularity.
It has been reported by Skyler Shuler, the editor-in-chief of The DisInsider, a publication focused on all things Disney. He has stated how he is not confirming anyone for the role of Megara in the live-action film but the name that he is hearing quite frequently next to the role is Dua Lipa.
He said,
Not saying anyone should run with this as 100% fact but a name I hear Disney likes right now is Dua Lipa.
Apart from the Levitating singer, Ariana Grande is also being considered for the role of the Disney character in the live-action adaptation. However, none of the names are confirmed as Disney has not announced its official cast for the film.
Fans Are Convinced That Another Pop Star Would Kill The Role of Meg in Hercules
Even though Skyler Shuler has reported that the New Rules singer can be a potential star to portray the Disney character, fans are resolutely certain that Elizabeth Gillies would be a far better name to portray the character.
She possesses charisma and versatility to portray the character, as she showcased sharp humor, vulnerability, and strength when she played the role of Jade West in Victorious.

The fans are not wrong to ask Elizabeth Gillies for the role of Meg because her experience in musical theater would be an asset in tackling Meg’s musical scenes. Furthermore, Gillies is fluent in delivering sharp sarcastic comments which is one of the many iconic personality traits of the Disney character.
As a result, fans believe that she would be the better choice to portray the character than the Training Season singer.
The new live-action of Hercules has no official release date as of now.
