What Skill Did Carrie Fisher Regret Not Using In Star Wars

Leia possessed a multitude of talents, and Carrie Fisher herself was no exception. Surprisingly, one of Fisher’s skills included fluency in French, a fact she demonstrated during an interview with Radio Television Suisse to promote the original Star Wars film back in 1977. With impeccable fluency in French, Fisher expressed her thoughts about George Lucas.

“He made everyone’s character very specific [very strong] I think, because the princess is not a victim. She’s very strong, and it’s good, because there are not a lot of strong women in film right now.”

Unfortunately, Fisher never had the opportunity to showcase her linguistic abilities in the Star Wars movies. With her flair for languages, Leia could have potentially rivaled C-3PO in her proficiency for translating alien dialects, adding an intriguing dimension to her character’s capabilities.

George Lucas Didn’t Let Carrie Fisher Wear Undergarments

While Carrie Fisher is widely remembered for her memorable portrayal of Princess Leia in Star Wars, it is interesting to note that the iconic gold bikini was as close as she came to wearing any undergarments on set. In a revealing interview with Blastr in 2010, Fisher candidly disclosed the lack of underwear she sported during the filming of Star Wars.

Carrie Fisher disclosed that George Lucas had imposed a no-bra rule during filming, and intriguingly, he had a scientific rationale to support this directive. Fisher revealed Lucas’ explanation, stating:

“He explained that in space you get weightless, and so your flesh expands. What? But your bra doesn’t, so you get strangled by your bra. That’s why I couldn’t wear a bra in the first Star Wars. George actually came backstage when I did the show in San Francisco and told me that.”

All films in the Star Wars series are available for streaming on Disney+.
