Coolidge said that when she saw Grande imitating her, she was pleasantly surprised and liked her depiction of her. She also recalled one of her friends advised her to DM the Side To Side singer since she was a fan of hers. While the actress thought she might not get anywhere since Grande has millions of followers, but when she did, she got an immediate reply. She said:
“It was, sort of a beginning of a lot of cool things that happened to me, because I was going through a dead zone, and not much was going on. My friend, who was her age, Tresa, she was like ‘You should DM Ariana Grande, and say it was such a great imitation.’ And I said ‘No, she got like, 260 Million followers. Those are robots, the robots answer the DMs.’ And then, I did it anyway, and this response came back. And then, the next thing you know, I was going to her house for the wardrobe fitting for Thank You, Next.”
Therefore, her flatlining career was saved by one of her biggest fans, which goes to show just how much influence she left with her career in the world.
