Dwayne Johnson has become one of the biggest names in the world over the past decade, thanks to his charisma, talent, and personality. Johnson is known for delivering commercial hit films including Central Intelligence, the Fast & Furious franchise, the Jumanji series, and much more. But the commercially hit superstar was hit hard when his ambitious project, Black Adam failed to satisfy the audience despite incorporating all his last-minute changes. Zachary Levi now called out The Rock for the poor performance of Shazam! 2.

Dwayne Johnson’s Failed Dream Project

The Central Intelligence star has made it clear on several instances that Black Adam was his dream project. It is already known though that Johnson’s character along with the Justice Society of America was going to debut in the recently released Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Yet the WWE superstar demanded his debut in the DCU with his solo film.

In comics, Black Adam and Shazam are the two characters who usually engage with each other. But in the film depiction of this major interaction was evidently missing. Despite having only months of difference in their release date there was no cameo of either character in each other’s film. Now as per reports, Johnson is to be blamed as the Fast & Furious actor forced for Henry Cavill’s cameo instead of Zachary Levi.

Zachary Levi Blames Dwayne Johnson For The Failure Of Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Several reports emerged after the failure of Black Adam at the box office highlighting the problematic behavior of the superstar. Zachary Levi now has gone public to criticize The Rock. Levi marked a report in his Instagram story, claiming that Dwayne Johnson was planning the entire DCU with him and Henry Cavill’s Superman as the center. He used his authority to deny access to the Justice Society to Shazam! 2

Levi also highlighted the fact that his possible cameo in the Black Adam was replaced by Henry Cavill because of the Red Notice star. Thus, all this resulted in the production of two independent films, Black Adam and Shazam! 2 ignoring all their comic interactions. The Chuck star called out the San Andreas star for the underwhelming opening of Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Fans too expressed their dissatisfaction with The Rock.

It was already made clear that Johnson will not return as Black Adam in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. Now it looks like it was the last time for Levi too to reprise the role of Billy Batson, as the poor performance of Shazam! Fury of the Gods may cancel all plans of makers to bring Levi back. Not to forget there was no mention of any projects with Levi in the announced 10 projects of the DCU. Shazam! Fury of the Gods was released on March 17, 2023, and is currently available in theaters.
