For one to have doubts over Henry Cavill’s return as the Man of Steel in Black Adam should not come off as surprising. After all, there have been several instances where seemingly harmless rumors and speculations led to countless let-downs. However, things do not seem too bleak this time around.
Following several scoopers confirming the reality of the heavily theorized Black Adam post-credits scene, now comes Dwayne Johnson, the lead star of the endeavor, with a video that seemingly re-affirms the confirmations of Cavill’s Superman comeback.
Taking to Instagram, Johnson posted a reel that constituted him mainly lauding the official Black Adam theme song. However, briefly, at the end of the clip, the former pro-wrestler made an intriguing remark that appears to be teasing the return of Superman, whose staggering powers are more than enough to contest that of the titular hero.
Dwayne Johnson May Have Confirmed Henry Cavill’s Return
In the aforementioned Instagram video, Dwayne Johnson first urged the fans to listen to the action-packed, robust, and energetic theme song of the film. Elaborating on the inspirational feeling that the score composed by Lorne Balfe exudes, the actor then went on to mention how he watched Black Adam again. Seemingly excited, Johnson stated that he “can’t wait” for the audience to see the film.
At the very end, the former pro-wrestler teased what seems to be the most credible evidence hinting at Henry Cavill‘s Superman comeback. Following is what the actor said:
“I can’t wait for you guys to see Black Adam. He is the most powerful … in the third act. He is the most powerful and unstoppable force on this planet. On this planet.”
Special emphasis was affirmed as he said, “on this planet.” The remark is essentially alluding to what fans of the franchise are well-aware of — Superman is not from Earth, he was born on the fictional planet of Krypton as Kal-El.
Additionally, the Jumanji alum ended the clip with a playful wink, which appears to have been teasing an official confirmation of what has made numerous headlines this week. Johnson, too, is emulating and paralleling the thrill that fans of Cavill must be feeling at the moment.
Fans’ Reaction To The Tease
While the particularities surrounding the return of Henry Cavill have upset certain fans, especially the Zack Snyder loyalists, others have expressed their gratitude and extended their thanks to Dwayne Johnson for having made such a dream-like scenario into an actual possibility.
The much-discussed post-credits scene will reportedly feature Henry Cavill’s Superman saying, “We need to talk, Black Adam.” This statement is seemingly opening the doors for several upcoming projects. If the Man of Steel alum is indeed in it for the long haul, then the fans of the franchise are surely in for a treat.
Although most fans are convinced that Dwayne Johnson’s Instagram video has confirmed the exciting and fruitful narrative of what the future may hold, others expressed mild skepticism over the wording of the actor’s statement, which may aggravate further debates and discussions over the difference in power between Black Adam and the Metropolis Marvel.

This is so exciting but the wording bugs me about Superman. This could easily be fixed by saying “no one FROM this planet” instead of “no one on this planet”. https://t.co/k1eXlWrOn8

"… in this planet"

This is extremely nitpicky, but the "Black Adam is the most powerful force ON this planet, but Superman isn't FROM this planet" bothers me so much. Superman is still ON this planet.

While the wording may have been a slight blip on his part, Dwayne Johnson has definitely sent the fans of Henry Cavill’s iteration of Superman into a delightful frenzy. It might be too early to ascertain whether or not Black Adam will change the hierarchy of power in the DCEU. However, it can be stated without an ounce of doubt that the rebuilt and re-emerging future of the franchise is very much reliant upon the success of the Johnson-led attempt.
It will soon be revealed how well the Jaume Collet-Serra-directed endeavor manages to fare at the box office as well as in the hearts of the many excited fans who dearly anticipate its release.
Black Adam will hit the theatres on October 21, 2022.
