While there have been quite a few complaints, Robert Downey Jr. is not the only OG Marvel star who will be returning to the fold. The recent Comic Con announcement also signaled the return of the Russo Brothers, single-handedly responsible for the most successful movie that Marvel has come out with thus far.
As one would expect, both the director-duo, and Downey Jr., will be raking in the big bucks via their MCU returns, with both the parties set to become considerably richer as a result.

The MCU has recently taken in a fair share of setbacks. Movies in the post-Endgame period have not impressed fans, even if some of them have done well at the box office. Now, with Deadpool & Wolverine becoming the kind of success everyone suspected, Kevin Feige and company are already looking forward to the next phase.
In order to maximize chances of success, not only has Robert Downey Jr. returned, the Russo brothers will also be returning to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. This next stage of the Avengers saga has already received its fair share of setbacks, considering how Jonathan Majors’ career has gone of late.
In that sense, bringing in the above-mentioned names seems to be an obvious attempt to reprise the kind of magic MCU was known for, just until a few years ago. Regardless, bringing in the Russo Brothers is a major move, also considering the kind of money they are set to receive. According to sources, the two will end up receiving a total of $80 million for the two movies (Variety).
In addition to that, sources also claim that their contract includes performance bonuses that will kick in if either of the two movies ends up touching the $750 million, and the $1 billion mark.

Robert Downey Jr. is not only the most illustrious actor who has to date been seen in the MCU. As Iron Man, he kicked off Marvel’s golden age, and was the first member of the Avengers as fans know them. Through the journey which ended via 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr. also became a bonafide multi-millionaire.
According to Economic Times, the actor has to date already made between $500-600 million via the depiction of Iron Man alone. However, that figure is set to bludgeon comprehensively, considering he is now kickstarting a journey as another major character. There are several ways in which Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Victor von Doom can be justified.
He can be a Tony Stark variant, or Marvel might have something more sinister up their sleeves. After all, going the variant route is something that fans have already seen multiple times in the MCU. Regardless, whatever ends up being the storyline that sees Downey Jr.’s face emerge as that of Dr. Doom, the actor himself can be further expected to add a few hundred million to his net worth.
Although details about the kind of salary he will be commanding have not been released, considering the kind of money the Russo brothers will be bringing in, fans can expect the former Iron Man to top that figure.
There are no release dates yet allotted to the likes of Avengers: Secret Wars, and Avengers: Doomsday.
