“I dropped out of college when Interstellar came out to pull up make it a little full circle cuz I was like really I was like this thing’s gonna come out. And I was like and I’ll just, I went for a year. Okay sounds like I’ll ride the path we’re just gonna coast like it was like not a thing. My part wasn’t that big in it I’m like and it was very presumptuous to think otherwise and I took that year off.”

The Dune actor made sure to doesn’t make it look too dramatic. He admitted that many people face greater challenges yet it was the scariest year of his life.

“Yet for me, that was like the scariest year of my life because I didn’t have a career and I had tasted enough of this stuff where I kind of could see what it maybe could be but what there wasn’t presenting itself and I wasn’t in school anymore.”

“I had a delusional dream in my early teenage years to have, in my late teenage years, an acting career. And in my late teenage years, working on Homeland and starting to do theatre in New York, I felt like I reduced my goal to something more realistic, which was to work in theatre and hopefully make enough money doing either a TV show or something I could sustain myself [with].”

Ultimately, the projects he chose turned out to be his greatest achievements and he enjoyed a smooth transition into stardom- “And then it felt like every dream came true, exponentially. And then life is moving at six million miles per hour.”
