Anyway, Katee Sackhoff recently addressed reports hinting at her character taking over The Mandalorian from Din Djarin in season 4. Sackhoff shared her thoughts in an exclusive interview with The Direct.

No. I think there’s always going to be a lot of speculation in this fandom. You know, I think it’s one of the reasons why people love this fandom so much. And they love this universe so much that a lot of times it allows just enough ambiguity for people to interpret things the way that they want to interpret them. And out of that there is the ability to have a lot of misinformation get out, or just, you know, wishful thinking.

In simple terms, Sackhoff denied any rumors about Bo-Katan taking over the show. The actor blamed the rumors on Star Wars fandom. Considering it’s one of the biggest fan bases in the world, it’s only obvious that they get attached to certain actors and characters.

The Mandalorian Will Always be Din Djarin’s Show

While Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan got a lot of spotlight during the third season of the show, Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin was also present there. Sure, Pascal couldn’t appear for physical filming due to his other projects like The Last of Us.

With that being said, Pedro Pascal will once again be busy shooting for The Last of Us season 2 and Gladiator 2. It led to many claiming that Pascal will no longer be a crucial part of The Mandalorian season 4.

However, in the same interview with The Direct, Katee Sackhoff reaffirmed that The Mandalorian will always remain a Din Djarin TV show.

I think that the story of the Mandalorians and the story of Bo-Katan needed to be told, I don’t believe in any way that it was taking away from Din [Djarin’s] story, nor was that ever the intention. And you know, Pedro and I aren’t in charge of who gets to lead the show [laughs]. This is Din Djarin’s show, it will always be Din Djarin’s show.

It’s already confirmed that The Mandalorian will return for another season. However, there’s no concrete release date set for the show’s return to Disney+ following the SAG-AFTRA strike. With the strike being resolved, the filming for season four should begin either in November or December 2023.

Keeping that in mind, the show could return in the second half of 2024 or early 2025. Either way, fans will wait patiently for another exciting season of The Mandalorian.
