Jennifer Lawrence’s ex-boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult’s name has been swirling around to enter Superman: Legacy, James Gunn-Peter Safran’s much-vaunted first chapter of DC Studio. Jame Gunn and Peter Safran are also looking to find Lois Lane and even Lex Luthor for their 2025 movie. Gunn, specifically, is pouring his heart and soul into the project as the superhero holds a lot of significance for the director. In an April interview, Gunn quoted, “I completely relate to Superman because he’s everything I am.” Well, Gunn may have found the same spirit in Hoult!

Nicholas Hoult’s Never Busy For James Gunn’s Superman

Nicholas Hoult, who previously lost Batman’s role to Robert Pattinson, was offered to star alongside the Top Gun actor, Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 7. However, the actor dropped out of the role due to scheduling conflicts that prevented him from taking up the villain’s role.

Hoult indeed missed out on roles in three blockbusters. The actor, who is loved by the DC for his role in Mad Max: Fury Road, also screen-tested for Top Gun: Maverick but ended up losing the role. During Mission: Impossible 7, the actor was already attached to The Great, a historical and satirical black comedy-drama television series.

Superman: Legacy is slated to hit cinemas on 11 July, 2025 – 12 years after the release of Man of Steel.

Also set to star as a guilt-filled juror in Juror No. 2, Nicholas Hoult’s wish to star in a DC film is reportedly about to come true, and everyone knows Hoult wouldn’t be busy for James Gunn and Peter Safran. Whether it is Lex Luthor or Superman, the Renfield actor is, perhaps, about to become a part of Gunn’s first chapter of DC Studio.
