Eric Kripke’s The Boys has become one of the most successful and, arguably, the most popular satirical shows to mock superhero conventions that have previously been showcased by well-known franchises.
However, it does not limit itself to the mockery of popular heroes; it follows a narrative showcasing diabolical and unhinged violence, neatly equipped with a story consisting of power and politics.
Though season 4 of the R-rated show has met some negative reviews, they are not looking to slow down for the fifth and final season of the show. Kripke is collecting cast members from his other popular show, Supernaturals. Following in the footsteps of Jim Beaver and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jared Padalecki is the series’ newest cast member, and Kripke has some big plans for the star.
Eric Kripke Plans To Break The Internet in The Boys Season 5
Despite a troubled start with The Boys season 4, it quickly managed to win over the fans and critics, as it reigns supreme over the Prime Video charts. Eric Kripke has made the storyline more unhinged in the current season of the show, thanks to Antony Starr’s Homelander facing an existential crisis and finding unhinged ways to cope with it.
However, the showrunner is looking for more unique and intriguing ways to make his show more disturbing, and he has found it in Jared Padalecki.
After the Supernatural actor confirmed that he was joining the show in the fifth and final season, Kripke made an announcement that has got the fans already excited for the fifth season of the show.
While talking to Entertainment Weekly, Eric Kripke confirmed that “yeah, it’s fair” to say that Padalecki joins in the upcoming season of the TV series. But that’s not all, because he teased a reunion between Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy and the Walker actor in his undisclosed role. He said,
The value of that is to break the internet. So we’ll see whether it’s right for the story. But yes, it’s occurred to me that putting those two in a scene together would destroy much of the world, and that’s appealing.
It looks like the story in the final season would be “f**king diabolical,” in Billy Butcher’s words. When you include Soldier Boy, Butcher, Homelander, and Padalecki together in a scene, it would not disappoint the fans.
Eric Kripke Has Some Big Plans For Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy
There’s no denying that in Season 3 of The Boys, Jensen Ackles played a key role in the storyline of the series. Once thought to be dead, he escaped the Russian terrorists and almost took down Homelander if Billy Butcher had not interrupted.
However, he has not made an appearance in the current season, but it looks like he is not going to appear until the 5th season of the show. In the same interview with EW, Kripke opened up about the production of the final season of the show. He said,
The old TV adage is like, never kill anyone unless you really, really have to. Never close a door, open a window. We’ll all have to wait and see, but I can’t imagine the series ending without Soldier Boy making another appearance.
While Soldier Boy might not make an appearance in the current season, he is set to make a cameo in Gen V, a spin-off show of The Boys. Nevertheless, the current season belongs to Morgan’s Joe Kessler, who might have a big role in the current storyline of the TV series.
