The Witcher is one of the popular fantasy action franchise out there and the next installment in the series, The Witcher 4, is currently under development at CD Projekt Red. There is a lot of hype around the game but the developer hasn’t shared anything other than a single image.
There are now reports that the series is deviating from Geralt in the upcoming game. However, this alleged change is not sitting well with the fans and they are advocating for the popular character to be at the center of the title.
Fans Are Not Happy About The Witcher 4 Not Focusing on Geralt of Rivia
The Witcher 4 developer CD Projekt Red has already said that Geralt of Rivia’s story has been finished and there may be a new protagonist in the upcoming game. Geralt voice actor Doug Cockle also recently shared that the character won’t be in a central role.
He also said that who will be the main character isn’t known yet. While nothing has been outright confirmed by CDPR yet, fans are still not okay with this.
Many have taken to social media to show that they are against this and want Geralt in the game. There are also fans saying that they are not going to play the game due to this reason only.
People being offended by Ciri being the main character in Witcher 4 (possibly) is another example of this weird movement of people forcing themselves to be offended 💀.

But there is also a certain fanbase that isn’t sure why this is happening when a few years back people were asking for game featuring Ciri. Fans can not understand the hate for the female character despite the previous game setting the story for her to take over.
Fans Want Geralt of Rivia in The Game
It is speculated that Cirilla may be the main character and Geralt may take the role of a mentor in the game. Fans have said that game will fail due to this alleged changed if this turns out to be true.
Many have said that the developer should make a new series if the game isn’t going to be about him.
Then why call it Witcher 4? Just make a new game series.

Despite all this controversy and discussion around this, it makes sense for the game to focus on Princess Cirilla. The last game allowed players to play as her at times and players have loved that.
The combat and gameplay impressed fans and this could only improve in the upcoming game. Fans should give the character a chance and there is massive potential in Princess Cirilla to take the franchise ahead.
