With The Wolf Among Us 2 getting a winter setting, and a new case looming over Bigby and Fabletown, there are quite a few characters from the Fables comics who could make their way into the sequel. Per Telltale’s official synopsis, it seems that the NYPD could schmoose their way into Fabletown. This could land the Fables in a world of hurt, knowing how expensive glamours are. It could also mean that Snow White has a difficult time as Deputy Mayor. Will Mayor King Cole be back? Perhaps Prince Charming could set foot in town?

The synopsis does certainly set up a hardened sequel, and if Telltale wants to deliver their fans an excellent game, these 5 characters need to make their way to Fabletown!

Prince Charming

For those only familiar with the Mundie version, Prince Charming, according to the Fables comics, is the biggest playboy around Fabletown. Well, with a name like that, surely it doesn’t come as a surprise? Having first been married to Snow White, he cheats on her with her sister, Rose Red. After divorcing Snow, the playboy finds himself enamored by Briar Rose, aka Sleeping Beauty. Once again being unfaithful in their marriage, Charming’s next paramour is Cinderella. Much like a broken record, Charming broke yet another one of his marriages.

Having lived in Europe off the kindness of many nobles after several broken partnerships, Charming could return to Fabletown to start anew. His arrival could mean Snow’s time as deputy mayor could be at an end, as the comics have had him contest for office during a time of war in Fabletown. Charming may very well ruffle a few feathers between Bigby and Snow!

Cinderella

In the world of Fables, Cindy is a known spy and special agent. The only easter eggs alluded to her in The Wolf Among Us 1 was a store named “The Glass Slipper”, and an entry in the book of Fables with most of her information kept discreet. If players did visit the Tweedles’ office and went through their files, one entry carries a picture of Cindy stating she’s on “Vacation in Europe”. For a spy, it could mean she’s on a mission, rather than some time off.

In the comics, Cindy is known to be in cahoots with Bigby from time to time for secret assignments. So, her arrival in Fabletown seems imminent with a new case threatening Bigby and the safety of all Fables. She’s also known to have seduced Ichabod Crane in Paris (Crane fled to Paris on orders of Bloody Mary in the first game), so she might have learnt more secrets of the town… if Telltale does follow their mishmash of comics and game story continuity.

Frau Totenkinder

Known as The Black Forest Witch/ Evil Witch in all Mundie children’s stories, Frau Totenkinder is one of the most powerful magic users in The 13th Floor group. The group resides on the 13th floor of the Woodlands apartment. Players of the first game might remember Aunty Greenleaf being given a proposition to join them. With the safety of all Fables being threatened in the sequel, Frau Totenkinder could serve as a potential witch who provides glamours.

Known to be very expensive, of better quality and longer lasting, the 13th Floor’s glamours are not easy to come by for all Fables. Frau could serve as competition to Aunty Greenleaf’s black-market spells, or she may perhaps join Greenleaf in providing safety to all remaining Fables.

Santa Claus

Well, who’d have thought the jolly big man possessed almost God-like powers? Santa would be a perfect character to appear in The Wolf Among Us 2. Given the setting of winter and Fabletown in grave danger, Santa’s presence could be one to foster hope for all Fables as he is one of Hope’s Paladins.

Known to be omnipresent, if someone were to catch Santa during his present delivery time, the recipient Fable could ask him a question in place of a present. If Bigby or any Fable were to work their way around the new threat the town faces, the one question’s answer might be worth its weight in gold over any present Santa has to offer. Santa was also seen in Fables #56, asking Bigby to safekeep a naughty-nice list.

Roberon Cole (King Cole)

With King Cole only getting a quick mention in the first game, his whereabouts are virtually unknown. But with Ichabod Crane gone and Snow White as deputy mayor, King Cole might come back to Fabletown to treat the mess that it was in his absence. In the comics, he is known to have left major responsibilities to Snow and only appearing for ceremonial purposes as Mayor.

But with King Cole’s arrival, it does further solidify the theory that Fabletown needs all hands-on-deck as the fate of the town seems grim with Mundie exposure. And with the trailer all but audibly confirming Dorothy Gale’s presence, King Cole might be needed to foster peace in Fabletown, as Dorothy and Cinderella have known to be at each other’s throats several times. Despite not being powerful like many other Fables, the old man surely does something right to be named Mayor for centuries!
