During a past interview, the Ford Vs Ferrari star was talking with the host, who asked him about his particular fear of heights. To this, Damon replied, talking about the time when he was sitting with Cruise, having dinner. Seeing as the Top Gun star had performed the infamous Burj Khalifa stunt in Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol, he wanted to know more about it. But when he did bring that up, Cruise’s whole demeanor changed, and he gazed directly into his eyes, which made Damon feel a certain way. He said:

“I saw that one [The Burj Khalifa Stunt], and I happened to have dinner with him. I was in London, and we all had dinner together, and so I kind of cornered him and I said ‘Hey, tell me about this! I am afraid of heights, how did you do this thing?’ You’ve met Tom, he’s very like, you’re the only person in the world. But it’s not like everything disappears for him, everything else disappears for you. It’s like, eveything just went away.”

Seeing the passion in his eyes for everything that he does in his films, it’s hard not to admire his sincerity, and also not to be attracted to that energy a little bit.
