When Peter Weller replaced Conroy as the voice of Batman in the 2013 film Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Conroy revealed that he did not mind the change at all. In an interview with Starburst Magazine, Conroy talked about Zack Snyder’s 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. During his talks, the actor revealed that he loved Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck in the role.

“I thought the performances were great. It was a little too violent for me. In terms of performances, Ben Affleck was fantastic. Henry Cavill is wonderful.”

He further talked about Heath Ledger and how the actor exceeded expectations of Conroy.

“I thought Mark Hamill was the definitive Joker. I thought no-one would ever do it as well as him. And then I saw Heath Ledger, and he was brilliant in a different way. He just brought a whole different quality to it.”

In a separate interview, Conroy talked about his voice acting career. The actor talked about how he had never expected the job to become what it did.

Back in 2014, the actor sat down for an interview on DC with Tim Beedle and talked about the time before he was famous. During his interview, Conroy stated that he had no idea about the fame and success that he would get with the role!

“I had absolutely no expectation that this job would turn into what it became. I started recording it in 1991, and it went on the air on Fox in 1992 as a prime time series.”

He further continued,

“Then, over 23 years, it just evolved from Batman: The Animated Series to The Adventures of Batman and Robin to Justice League and then Batman Beyond.”

In the end, Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received a rating of 6.5/10 on IMDB and a meager score of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. Many people agreed with Conroy’s statements that the film was indeed a bit violent. Zack Snyder’s 2016 film is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
