Elden Ring is one of the most successful games of the last few years. The FromSoftware title has sold more than 20,000,000 copies. Being by far the most rentable IP from the creators of Dark Souls, and with the announced Shadow of the Erdtree DLC coming some time in the future, fans are still very much involved with this game. This kind of popularity generates some theories about the very vast lore of the game.
One of these theories involves two characters that are very similar; some of these theories aim to show that these two important figures in Elden Ring are the same person.
Elden Ring and Fan Theories Are Something That You See Every Day
One of the best things about the Elden Ring and Dark Souls games is the community that formed behind these FromSoftware titles. This community is very active, and it loves to talk a lot about theories, builds, lore, and whatever topic involves these games. Fans are so active about this game that two years after the launch of Elden Ring, theories keep resurfacing about the lore and characters from this title.
One of the more active is about the resemblance between two key characters.
According to fans, Radagon and Marika were once the same person, but they were separated. Reddit’s user, farfarfunk, wrote, “Marika and Radagon, I don’t get it.” At some point, the community began to form theories and opinions about these two being the same person. Another Reddit user explains that they were one; they were separated, had children, and were put together once more.
These fans are very sure about these two characters being one, but none can explain when or why this happened.
The Theories Continue on Social Media
On X, there are some theories that actually talk about the opposite: that they are not one person because it will be very uninteresting. Fans started to answer this post in particular, just quoting the lore of Elden Ring. Other answers talk about them being twins and why they have so much in common. Other possibilities talk about all Numen born as women and later developing a new self to procreate.
The discussion continues for a long time with no clear answer or clarification done by Miyazaki or FromSoftware.
This possibility is all over the place; there are videos on YouTube explaining why this could be and why they end up separate in one moment.
Both Radagon and Marika have pretty different origins, but they share certain features that make this theory possible.
