WandaVision’s spinoff Agatha All Along starring Kathryn Hahn is truly pushing forward after all those title revisions. Disney and Marvel Studios know that the show is a risky move after they have declared to focus more on the quality of their content.

A Marvel boss confirmed in an interview that there will be “deadly stakes” that Agatha Harkness will endure, but they believe the show will somehow pull the audience the way the character did in WandaVision.

Agatha All Along Will Be A Risky Project For Marvel Studios

During his guesting in The Official Marvel Podcast, Head of Streaming, Television and Animation Brad Winderbaum clarified that Agatha Harkness will be an anti-hero in the upcoming show. He also revealed that the series, albeit fun and dramatic, will have so many risks for the central character.

It’s really fun, but it’s really scary and it gets quite dramatic. She’s an amazing anti-hero. That show lures you in with the fun of Halloween and before you know it, you’re crying. There are deadly stakes. It’s a fun ride, but a dangerous one.

Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness became a central figure in WandaVision after she was introduced with a villain twist. She was loved by fans, and her musical number even took home an Emmy award.

For the past few years, some of Marvel’s television series delivered underwhelming performances. At this point, there is no guarantee that Agatha All Along will be different apart from its witchy vibe storyline that could hopefully attract viewers.

Unless Agatha All Along presents a fresh and innovative storyline that would later tie up to a bigger MCU plot, then fans might want to give it a chance. However, it was previously revealed that it is a standalone adventure so perhaps we’ll just wait and see when it arrives on the small screen.

What Fans Can Expect From Agatha All Along

Speaking with Empire Magazine, Jac Schaeffer teased fans on the upcoming Agatha All Along show. Since Elizabeth Olsen’s WandaVision followed the format of a sitcom, the upcoming series will work on the typical witch settings.

[Where] WandaVision played with the form of classic TV sitcoms, [here] we do a lot of playing with what the assumptions about witches are. Like, what are the shorthand visuals for witches?

The director said, “We certainly didn’t want a one-dimensional nasty witch. We will have moments where we see Agatha’s true heart.” Perhaps this is what Winderbaum was pointing out when he said the show would get dramatic at one point.

The most exciting part of the show would be the “disparate, mixed bag of witches” that Agatha Harkness will be dealing with. After all, they are covenless witches who demonstrate “deception, treachery, villainy and selfishness” – how does one get them all to work together? It’s going to be chaotic, for sure.
