Given how long the production schedule for the film is, and recent trends in Hollywood with regard to superhero films, fans have been concerned about Gunn’s Superman, starring David Corneswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

Fans are hoping that Superman does not have an overabundance of CGI

One of the major criticisms that have been leveled at big-budget live-action superhero films is that they overuse CGI to compensate for the lack of a good resolution to the third act. This is a problem that has specifically plagued the MCU, which has dominated the big-budget, live-action, superhero space for quite some time. The DCEU also faced similar problems with films like Suicide Squad and Joss Whedon’s Justice League.

While such concerns have been voiced over James Gunn’s Superman as well, the director has come out with answers regarding his production schedule, which some audiences think is too short for a film like Superman, thinking that the director will be taking care of the rest of the project with excessive use of CGI.

Gunn himself took to Threads to assuage the fears of the audiences, that Superman is a film with one of the longest production schedules that he has worked with, which is supported by the fact that the film is shooting in multiple locations.

The production for Superman has led the crew and James Gunn to numerous on-site shoots, taking place across the world. Gunn updated audiences about the shooting in Norway, which has indicated that the film will feature an iconic location from the comics: Superman’s Fortress of Solitude.

Unlike the version of Superman that existed in the DCEU, Gunn seems to be relying less on CGI (seeing how that has hurt the franchise before) and focusing on getting as much live footage from on-location shoots as possible.

While there seem to be new rumors and accusations surrounding the DCU every day, James Gunn has taken an active part in debunking and confirming leaks and rumors, so as to keep the fans focused on what is to come, rather than building expectations that are never going to be delivered on.
