Eiichiro Oda has been suffering from severe health issues since years. But he always puts his job first. And his dedication is perfectly seen in his works. Even though, the creator of One Piece might be having concerning health issues, he is committed to his shonen, action, adventure series.
Fans are always concerned about his health because it keeps deteriorating due to his long working hours. Recently, he again faced high blood pressure related worry but he assured his fans stating, everything alright. And that there’s no need to worry about.

Eiichiro Oda Gave An Update on His Health
In interview from a Japanese variety show, the anime creator assured his fans despite having major health problem.
He said that he sends his blood pressure numbers to his doctor daily. And the doctor always warns him about his numbers getting too high but Oda believes that “An ideal blood pressure can’t always be applied to everyone and so there is no problem.”
Recently, a One Piece’s chapter 1098 was published which was incomplete. The chapter was short of final line art colouring when it was published in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
With this, Oda has also included an apology in the chapter due to time constraints. Although it’s not the first time he has dealt with health issues.

Eiichiro Oda Has Faced Health Problem Earlier Too
In 2012, Eiichiro Oda shared that he doesn’t have a scheduled sleeping routine. He only slept for just three hours every night from 2-5 AM. And more than that he’s following this sleep pattern for at least ten years.
In 2013, the creator was hospitalised again, yet it didn’t stop to continue his work. He kept working on his long ongoing series. When Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, visited Oda when he was hospitalised. That’s when Kishimoto was also surprised to his dedication. Because Oda sometimes skips his meals to focus on his series.
As he has to spent most of his time sitting in a chair illustrating he developed moderate diabetes and gout too.
This year it was in news that manga creator will take month-long hiatus for eye surgery. He is suffering from astigmatism (which hindered his artwork. This is very common concern among the art industry where authors have to work for long hours without enough breaks – that leads to diseases.
