Hugh Jackman, 54, and Deborra-Lee Furness, 67, have ended their nearly 3-decade-long marriage. “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the former couple told People in a statement. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” they added.
“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
The pair share two children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18 and they are committed to their children but the marriage was ending. At the time of their first meeting on the set of the Australian TV series Corelli, the duo instantly fell for each other. Frrness was already a star while Jackman had a long walk to the road of the industry, still, a year later, the duo got married.

It has not been long but the divorce didn’t really affect the couple. Speaking with New Idea Magazine, an insider revealed that the duo were waiting for their daughter Ava to turn 18. “It was a slow dissolve into a strange co-dependent friendship that was doing more harm than good,” the insider said. “Both Hugh and Deb have been working on themselves and rebuilding for the next stage in their lives,” they added. Naturally, it was not very hard for the actors. For, Jackman, he’s now open to a fresh relationship, at least his friends believe so.
“Hugh likes being married and having a special partner […] He wouldn’t have stayed so long with Deb if he didn’t have that with her […] There’s everyone from Jennifer Aniston to Sofía Vergara, even Reese [Witherspoon] and Charlize [Theron].
