Mission Impossible Might Bring Back Angela Bassett

Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe has not been up to the mark as of late, one actress that shined brighter than anyone was Angela Bassett. The actress first appeared in the Mission Impossible franchise as Erika Sloan. Mission: Impossible – Fallout saw her going head-to-head against Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. As a CIA director, she had a lot of impact on the movie and fans appreciated her presence just as much.

In 2020, Angela Bassett confirmed her return to the Mission: Impossible franchise and was looking forward to becoming Erika Sloane once again. Everyone was anticipating her return, fans and co-stars alike and she already had a script as well as a scene ready for her to be filmed. However, things did not go her way.

Due to COVID restrictions, the actress could not fly out and was therefore cut out of the movie altogether. However, this did motivate Christopher McQuarrie to include her in his next film. Not only were the fans saddened by the change, but so was Bassett.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 is now available to watch in theatres.
