Timothee Chalamet has admitted that his friendship with the Dune co-star has added an element of awkwardness to filming romantic scenes. However, both Zendaya and Chalamet have also emphasized that it’s part of their job as actors. “It’s not weird in the scope of the movie,” Chalamet told Entertainment Tonight in an interview before adding, “It’s just the strangest part of the job.”
Despite that, such questions just keep coming back, leading to not only the Wonka star but also his fans’ frustration. Chalamet was once again asked the same thing in an interview with Hits Radio. Joining his Dune: Part Two co-star Austin Butler, the 28-year-old actor was asked if it was “easier or harder” to have a relationship with a friend on-screen.
Timothee Chalamet, as usual, explained that it was something that the story required them to do. “There’s no good answer for that—And maybe in some ways, because we are good friends, maybe it was less weird,” he said, explaining that it’s the nature of their job.
Both Chalamet and Butler appeared visibly uneasy with the line of questioning. And fans have also noted the same, as they took to X (Twitter) to voice their exasperation with the persistent focus on Chalamet and Zendaya’s on-screen romance in Dune: Part Two.

Many fans shared their issues with TV personalities and social media influencers conducting these interviews without any prior experience. They argued how these interviewers prioritize sensationalism, prominently focusing on generating attention-grabbing soundbites or “craic,” rather than having any significant queries about the film.

I am so tired of interviews etc getting wasted on unqualified tiktokers , when there are professionals out there, who could get some refreshing insights out of those interviews, but barely get any chances (if any at all).
