It’s honestly very impressive what people can do when they give their minds creative freedom. Director Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two is a prime example of what the human mind is capable of and how beautifully a book can be adapted into a movie.
And it’s not just us praising Dune: Part Two for its visuals. Several important people in high places also seem to agree with the statement and are now expecting a third part of the franchise. Well, Legendary Entertainment’s CEO thinks that there will be a few conditions that need to be fulfilled before they can start making Dune: Part Three.
Dune: Part Two Is a Visual Masterpiece
Needless to say, Denis Villeneuve, being a visionary director, is quite an understatement. With masterful visuals and an immense yet proper usage of CGI, the 2024 movie opened in theaters and earned millions during its initial days.
Josh Grode, the CEO of Legendary Entertainment, talked about Dune: Part Two in an interview with NBC. During their talks, Grode revealed that there could be a third film greenlit, but there were certain conditions that needed to be fulfilled before going into production.
“I think this is a movie where you know the word of mouth is going to carry it. It is a stupendous piece of filmmaking. There’s no other way to say it. I’ve just about run out of adjectives.”
He further continued,
“We have to have all creative stakeholders aligned and support the vision. I think everybody is very excited and really enjoying this moment and if Denis [Villeneuve] gets the script right and he feels that he can deliver another experience on par with what we’ve just completed then I don’t see why not,”
So, deep down, it comes to the script, and whether or not Denis Villeneuve can deliver an experience like Dune: Part Two again. And it’s not just the CEO of Legendary Entertainment who praised Villeneuve. The list is quite endless.
IMAX CEO Is Very Impressed By Dune: Part Two‘s Sales!
Amidst the sandy dunes of Arrakis or the futuristic spaceships, an IMAX camera was used to film it all. Releasing in IMAX theaters, the sales were so much impressive that theaters ran out of seats for people wanting to see the film in IMAX! CEO Rich Gelfond revealed to NBC that there was an important lesson to be learned here, and they learned it with the help of Denis Villeneuve.
“The only reason it [earning] wasn’t higher is we ran out of seats. The lesson is that if you take a beautiful visual experience, a good story and you put it in the hands of a brilliant filmmaker with an IMAX camera, you’re going to get very good results,”
With rave reviews and highly positive remarks, Villeneuve and Chalamet’s Dune: Part Two received a rating of 9/10 on IMDB and an impressive score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film is currently screening in theaters all across the world for the people to see.
