Sylvester Stallone is among the most sought-after actors. Delivering hit after hit with his gritty and powerful acting, it is no surprise that he has won countless awards and nominations. His tenacious personality and passionate acting provide more than enough incentive for directors to rope him in.
One such director who has been wanting to work with him is none other than the master filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. Known for his genius and eye for the craft, Tarantino has offered the Expendables star not one, but two roles. But for some reason or the other he has failed to catch the fancy of the Rocky superstar.
Sylvester Stallone Rejected Quentin Tarantino Twice
If there were a director whom actors would unquestionably sell their souls to work with, it would undeniably be Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino, known for his ability to create mind-bending storylines and offer unforgettable experiences to his audience, tried hard to get Sylvester Stallone to star in his movies. One was for a role in the movie titled Jackie Brown, where Stallone was offered the part of Louis Gara. However, Stallone declined the role for reasons unknown.
Later on, he was once again approached to play a lead role in Death Proof. Stallone was asked to play the role of Stuntman Mike, who goes on a murdering spree to kill young women with ‘death-proof’ cars. However, given the gruesome storyline, the Rocky star flatly refused.
“There’s no way. I have two daughters, and this fellow, his hobby is putting teenagers in his car and smashing them into a wall. That’s not going to work.”
While we appreciate Sylvester Stallone’s dedication and love toward his daughters, we can’t help but think how absolutely wonderful it would be to see the legendary actor and filmmaker collaborate.
Sylvester Stallone In A Tarantino Movie To Remain A Dream Of Many
Sylvester Stallone has been beloved by numerous action-genre-loving fans. Seeing Stallone star in a Tarantino movie certainly holds an intense intrigue and enthusiasm for many film-buffs. Unfortunately, it seems this dream would remain a dream as Quentin Tarantino recently said he would be retiring after his tenth movie. The Oscar-winning director, who has already drafted the script for his final movie, once said that he would want to leave while he was still in the game.
Nonetheless, we can’t help but wonder how interesting it would have been to see how Tarantino would have brought out Stallone’s unique personality and molded his character to deliver an undoubtedly captivating performance. To each his own it seems.
