Solo Leveling is one of the greatest examples of peak fiction. The manhwa became massively popular, and the fans begged the creators to opt for an anime adaptation. They got their wish fulfilled when it was finally announced. But it was a long process, and on January 6, 2024, the anime aired its first episode. The online streaming sites crashed, and the anime reached new heights of popularity.

Initially, everyone loved the anime, but as time passed, people got to see the problem with the anime adaptation. Several aspects were adored by the fans, like the relationship build-up between Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In. Adding these extra elements may have added layers to the story, but it forgot one of the crucial factors of the manhwa – unlimited action sequences.

Solo Leveling Fans Want Unlimited Action

Solo Leveling highlights the journey of Sung Jinwoo from the weakest hunter to the strongest hunter in the world. It was not an easy journey since he had to go through rigorous training. Even though he deeply cared about his family and did everything in his power to protect them, he hardly got time to spend quality time with them. Since he was leveling up with every challenge he cleared, he was more focused on his mission.

But everything changed when the anime aired. The Cartenon Temple arc was beautifully done, but then it took a turn, with the anime taking it one step further. Cha Hae-In was introduced earlier in the anime to create the relationship dynamics and to avoid the problem of feeling too rushed. Even though it was appreciated, the anime diverted from the unlimited action policy. Solo Leveling is entirely based on unique fight sequences between powerful characters.

With every level, Sung Jinwoo faces stronger opponents in Solo Leveling, which helps him get accustomed to his newfound powers. Due to the lack of fights, the fans are beginning to beg the executives to bring back the original format and restore its true essence. They were all over the internet requesting the developers to bring back the glory days.

Solo Leveling anime has showcased several fights, but none of them come close to the intensity of the manhwa. With the anime taking a more mature approach, the fans were seen to take social media by storm, requesting Solo Leveling to forget about the writing focus on hype and fights. Most X (formerly Twitter) users agreed that Sung Jinwoo was an absolute beast during fight sequences.

Most of the fans were waiting only for the fight sequences. The Jeju Island arc is one of the best arcs of the popular manhwa. It would be great to see if the anime focuses on creating the hype and making the fight sequences better. Solo Leveling has always been more of an action-adventure genre anime with a little touch of romance. The anime seems to be exploring the little touch more than the actual story.
