Will The Last of Us Return for Another Season? Bella Ramsey Weighs In

Among all the praise and success there is one question every fan wants an answer to – Will there be a season 2?

A recent post on a fan account of The Last of Us revealed that the show’s director, Neil Druckmann, is following actor Shannon Berry on Instagram. The post included several images of Berry alongside pictures of the character Abby, leading fans to speculate that given the resemblance between the two and Berry’s age is appropriate for the character, HBO may have already cast the role for a potential second season.

However, it’s important to note that neither HBO, Druckmann nor the showrunner have confirmed a second season or any casting decisions. When asked about the possibility of a second season, Ramsey in her interview with BBC stated,

“If people keep watching, I think [a second season] is pretty likely. It’s down to the guys at HBO. There’s nothing confirmed yet so we’ll have to wait and see.”

Ramsey’s statement suggests that while the success of the series may make a second season likely, it is ultimately up to HBO to make the decision. Fans of the show will have to wait and see if the network decides to renew the series for another season. The Game of Thrones star went on to caution that nothing had yet been confirmed.
