In 2018, Culkin posted a fun audition reel on Twitter (now X), urging Disney and Marvel to cast him in an Avengers film. Culkin has engaged in such playful antics on several occasions and audiences love his comedic social media content.
Culkin wanted the $29 billion franchise to cast him in Avengers: Endgame, but unfortunately, his wish never came true. There’s still hope for the American Horror Story actor to star in future projects within the MCU, should he choose to pursue that ‘dream’ further.

Macaulay Culkin is one of the most successful child actors of the ‘90s. His role in Home Alone earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. Culkin took a break from acting in 1995 and returned to screen only in 2003. The Richie Rich actor maintained a relatively low profile in the industry but gained popularity with his engaging social media presence.
In 2018, Avengers: Infinity War became a worldwide phenomenon grossing $2 billion at the box office. Culkin wanted a part of the cinematic juggernaut and took to his X account, asking Marvel and Disney to consider him for the sequel of Infinity War. He even attached an ‘audition’ reel, which turned out to be a promotional piece for his satirical pop culture website, Bunny Ears.

If Culkin had genuine aspirations for a Marvel role, his hopes would have been dashed. Marvel had already completed filming Avengers: Endgame in tandem with Infinity War. It’s hard to take Culkin’s audition reel seriously, given he wears bunny ears and beats WWE stars in thumb wrestling in the video.
The Changeland actor has a specific character in mind for the MCU, adopting the username ‘Incredible Culk’ on Twitter. Fans humorously speculated that Earth was doomed in Infinity War because it didn’t have the Culk to save it. Interestingly, Culkin launched Bunny Ears in January 2018 as a comedy website and podcast, satirizing celebrity-owned websites such as Marvel star Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.

In 2013, Culkin posted a video of him eating a cheese pizza to YouTube, featuring singer Phoebe Kreutz. It was a parody of Jørgen Leth’s documentary 66 Scenes from America, wherein American visual artist Andy Warhol eats a Burger King Whopper. Much like his Bunny Ears video, this served as promotional material for Culkin’s pizza-themed comedy rock band, The Pizza Underground.
In December 2018, he reprised his iconic role as Kevin McCallister in a viral advertisement for Google Assistant. Later that month, he announced changing his name to “Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin” after a poll determined his new middle name as “Macaulay Culkin”. In August 2020, Culkin tweeted on his 40th birthday, “Hey guys, wanna feel old? I’m 40. You’re welcome.” The tweet became one of the most liked tweets on the platform.
On December 1, Macaulay Culkin was honored with the 2,765th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was joined by his on-screen mother Catherina O’Hara, his partner and actress Brenda Song, and his two children at the ceremony.
