Patrick Stewart‘s Professor X has been one of the major players in the Marvel Universe, playing a major role in bringing together the X-Men and leading them in many adventures throughout the film series. He recently reprised his role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While his appearance was considered an underwhelming one, it opened up many possibilities for his character.

Stewart recently appeared on Etalk where he was asked about a potential return to the MCU. Stewart expressed his openness to reprise the role and also joked about how many times his character has died and come back before. He said,

“I cannot put it to rest because it’s not a fact either for or against. It is a possibility. Hugh Jackman and I looked upon Logan as being our farewell. Given I died in the film, actually I’ve died several times already, how do I do it? Know that and you could get lucky.”

Fans however were not as happy about his potential return considering the subpar treatment of Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and thus were not optimistic about the whole scenario. Here’s what some of them had to say on X,

This is exciting news for Marvel fans who have loved their electrifying chemistry in the original X-Men films. Only time will tell whether this ever comes true.
