Sean Young had a minimal role in Blade Runner 2049. Her cameo had been a part of the movie purely to make sure that the fans would not get upset with the lack of her involvement. Their main purpose had been to make sure that the actress cannot go around talking about the 30-second role and how it was already difficult for her to return for the movie in the first place.
“And there was nothing I could do about it. It was very clear that they knew that the audience would be upset that I wasn’t in it, but they didn’t want me to b*tch about that publicly.”
The cameo was purely done via visual effects and had minimal involvement from Young. Although she was not happy with what she was being handed, they did decide she pay a certain amount of money. However, they had to take precautions and also made Young sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. The only reason why the actress did not say anything more was that they had also chosen to hire her son Quinn in the visual arts department. That had made her happy and she was glad to see his talent being used to its full potential.

There had been quite a talk flying about pertaining to Harrison Ford and Sean Young not getting along well. This had been so intense that the scenes between Rick and Rachel were even termed ‘hate scenes.’
This sprouted mainly because of the lack of dedication that Young had and the intense dedication that Ford brought. Working with Ridley Scott was not exactly something that the actress had been looking forward to and that in turn created some kerfuffle between the two actors as well.
