From the little that can be gathered via reports and interviews scattered over the internet, it seems as though Henry Cavill didn’t have the easiest of childhoods, but he more than made up for it in the years that followed. Ever since his teenage years, the actor has been struck by a love for films and gaming but it wasn’t until he was 17 that he decided to drop out of school and journey to Hollywood for a life among the stars. With Showtime’s historical fiction, The Tudors, Cavill gained a foothold in the industry and it wasn’t too long after then that Superman would come along, marking his rise and global stardom almost overnight in 2013.

Henry Cavill’s Difficult Years Amids Brothers and Bullies

The story of every household with siblings remains the same – endless fights and bloody battles. It wasn’t any different for Henry Cavill, Hollywood’s resident superhero. At school, it wasn’t any different. Joining the rugby team did not help with his image when it came to being borderline obese – a trait that landed him a cruel nickname among peers, “Fat Cavill.” Although the name didn’t stick, Cavill’s father attributes that factor to him growing up the same weight from the age of 13 to 25, the only difference being that he grew taller.

In his later years, he would go on to face a similar challenge because of his weight in his line of work as well when the 2005 auditions for Casino Royale didn’t pan out well for Cavill despite him being the final contender against Craig for the role of 007.

He was 30 years old at the time. Now that he’s turning 40, the fans have claimed it’s high time People bestows him the same honor as well when the poll is out for 2023.
