Charlie Cox’s Daredevil seems poised for a potential appearance in the forthcoming Marvel Disney+ series, Echo, after his fleeting cameo in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, such a move might not be prudent. Featuring Alaqua Cox as the lead, Maya Lopez, who is also known as Echo, the series is yet to commence production and is characterized by an absence of both an established storyline and confirmed supporting cast.

However, a potential inadvertent revelation may have emerged from Echo’s costume designer Stacy Caballero, whose resume included Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin as cast members. Although D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk’s inclusion could fit within Echo’s narrative, given his apparent demise by Maya in Hawkeye, the appearance of Daredevil might risk turning into an extraneous cameo, despite his relevance in the comic book lore.

Fans Believe Maya Will Kick Daredevil’s As*

If Daredevil and Kingpin were to cross paths with Echo, Maya would encounter two recognizable figures from her comic book origins. In Marvel’s comic world, Maya’s father, William Crazy Horse Lincoln, collaborated with Fisk before meeting his demise at Fisk’s hands. Subsequently, Kingpin assumed a mentorship role for Maya, instructing her in combat skills and manipulating her into believing that Daredevil was accountable for her father’s demise. As per new leaks, Maya and Daredevil will have a fight sequence in the series, and fans believe Maya will beat Daredevil.

Following her tenure as Fisk’s apprentice, Maya eventually resisted his influence and aligned herself with Murdock after clashing with Daredevil on multiple occasions. Considering Daredevil’s non-appearance in Hawkeye, which effectively depicted Maya’s departure from Fisk, his involvement in Echo becomes superfluous. Marvel’s priority should lie in further evolving Maya’s character, her opposition to Kingpin, and preserving Daredevil for an alternate narrative.

Maya’s introduction to the MCU in Hawkeye delved into her origins and her connections with Kingpin, Kazi Kazimierczak, and the Tracksuit Mafia. Over the initial four episodes, Maya emerged as one of the show’s central figures, alongside Clint Barton and Kate Bishop. Regrettably, in the series finale, she was relegated to a secondary role as the spotlight was predominantly shared between Yelena Belova and the aforementioned protagonists, diminishing her prominence.

How Did Echo And Daredevil Meet In the Comics

Crafted by David Mack and Joe Quesada, Lopez made her debut in Daredevil (1998) #9. In this issue, she was introduced as a member of the Cheyenne nation, bearing the unique talent to flawlessly replicate any physical motion she witnesses—a trait akin to the abilities of Avengers antagonist Taskmaster. Lopez’s father, William Lincoln, was in the employ of Wilson Fisk, alias Kingpin, and met his demise at the hands of the said antagonist. In his final moments, he left a grim handprint on his daughter’s visage.

Following this haunting incident, Fisk extended his guardianship over Lopez, nurturing her exceptional capabilities, which ultimately led her to pursue a career as a dancer and artist as she matured.

Lopez’s arrival coincided with a challenging period in Murdock’s existence. In the preceding Guardian Devil storyline, Bullseye’s actions resulted in the tragic demise of Karen Page, a close friend and love interest of the hero. Recognizing Murdock’s vulnerability, Kingpin orchestrated a meeting between him and Lopez, both unmasked. As anticipated by Fisk, the two forged a romantic connection during this encounter.
