Having witnessed Chris Evans and Ana de Armas’ chemistry in the critically exception Knives Out, fans had some high expectations from the duo’s romantic action comedy film, Ghosted. However, they were met with severe disappointment when the flick turned out to be a lusterless misfire in both the action and romantic departments.

Yet, despite the movie’s shortcomings in failing to provide an entertaining experience, it managed to capture the hearts of Captain America fans, for not only did it star ‘the Captain America’ in the lead but also featured small cameos from Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson) and Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes).

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has featured many iconic team-ups since its inception, but the trio of Captain America, Bucky Barnes, and Sam Wilson will forever remain one of the fan-favorite team-ups in the entire MUC. Bucky and Sam’s elite chemistry was further explored in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, giving fans more reason to adore the duo and their unlikely friendship.
So, while Ghosted fell short in many areas, it provided a unique touch that resonated deeply with Marvel fans: the appearance of Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, two key actors from the Captain America saga. Starring Chris Evans as the lead Cole Turner, a one-night-stand ends up with him in between an arms deal and the CIA. This eventually leads to him landing a bounty on his head.
Featuring countless bounty hunters, two of them are none other than Evans’ Marvel co-stars Mackie and Stan, who respectively portray Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in the MCU. While all of the bounty hunters, including Mackie and Stan’s characters end up killing each other, the cameos definitely stood out. And Captain America fans were certainly elated to see the trio together on screen again.

Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, who has now taken up the mantle of Captain America, and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier, have always shared a complicated yet compelling bond. So, when the duo made a short cameo in Chris Evans’ Ghosted, their appearances added a layer of nostalgia and excitement for Marvel fans.
While this unlikely collaboration in a non-MCU film shocked fans, it also made them nostalgic for the ‘good old times’. Recently a clip of their cameos from the film went viral on YouTube, and this is how fans reacted:
