The reboot of the DCU with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm is at the center of every DC fan’s attention. With a slate of new movies, and hopefully a project to write home about on the horizon, the duo is aware of the enormity of the responsibility they will have to shoulder as Co-CEOs of DC Studios.

While they have laid out a plan for the franchise, chalking out the first chapter: Gods and Monsters, much needs to be done to ensure that the franchise progresses in the right direction. Roping in stars who are loved by fans all around will go a long way in ensuring the franchise’s success. And they might just be doing that by bringing in this Marvel star – Chris Pratt.

With a fresh slate of 11 projects (including movies and series), the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe looks set to provide stiff competition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And its success is the best thing that fans could hope for, given how it may go on to further popularize certain unknown entities of DC Comics as well.
James Gunn and Peter Safran know that better than anyone else. Having set their mind to the task, they are trying to leave no stone unturned to ensure that the DCU reaches its utmost potential. Having taken a few initial steps in the direction, the Guardians of the Galaxy director has already turned his attention to casting. And this might mean that we might get to see Chris Pratt in action again.
Chris Pratt might be one of the stars to feature in Lanterns

One of the many projects that are a part of the DCU is Lanterns. Focusing on the story of Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart, two of the most well-known members of Green Lantern Corps, the series looks all set to form a critical part of the Universe. It may even be setting up the introduction of galactic villains into the DCU.
No wonder the 57-year-old must have been scratching his head regarding who to cast in the series. While he has been tight-lipped about his choices, he has confirmed that the process is very much in progress. He has also been in touch with the creators of Lanterns, Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King.
James Gunn has had discussions with the creators of Lanterns on who should play Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

While we remain oblivious to the talks going on behind the scenes, there is one name that looks set to lead the race for the role – Chris Pratt.
The ‘return’ of the Legendary Star-Lord?

The rumor mill has been abuzz with the news that Chris Pratt might be set to make his DCU debut real soon. It does make sense. With the return of the Legendary Star-Lord not on the horizon just yet, the Parks & Rec star could very well be in the running for a role in the DCU. A shift to the other side looks more likely, given his work with James Gunn for the GOTG movies.
And what better opportunity than bringing him on as Hal Jordan AKA Green Lantern. One of the founding members of the Justice League in the Comics, Jordan used to be a test pilot who found himself donning the mantle of the Corps. Chris Pratt might be the perfect person to bring him to life. After all, this won’t be the first time he would be playing a character from Earth who earned his fame as a member of the galactic force.
