Despite having a successful career with several movies to his name, Wahlberg revealed that his kids think that he is “cringe”. The actor revealed in an interview that his children like to laugh at him despite the actor giving it all on movie sets.
Mark Wahlberg Is Trying To Teach His Kids
Starring alongside Michelle Monaghan in the 2023 movie The Family Plan, the duo was asked about what their kids think of their parents. Talking about the life of a celebrity and their kids, Mark Wahlberg shared with The Telegraph that his kids call him “cringe”.

Not only do they call him cringe, but Wahlberg stated that he is trying to teach them a lesson about not making the mistakes he did. The Ted actor also revealed that they only think their parents are cool when they want something out of them like meeting a celebrity.
“I think we’re cool when it’s convenient, getting something done for them and meeting somebody they want to meet. But, you know, it’s fun for us, because we do live this kind of exciting life of pretend, making movies. We go home, and we’re just boring parents again.”
He further continued,
“I think all parents go through the same thing. Their kids think they’re out of touch, they don’t know what’s going on. They don’t realize we’ve been through all these things, and we’re trying to pass that experience and knowledge onto our kids to make their lives a little bit easier and help them avoid making some of the mistakes we’ve made.”
As the interview further continued, Wahlberg revealed that his kids called him “cringe” and even teased him with his rapper name Marky Mark!

Adding a few personal revelations, Mark Wahlberg admitted that his kids indeed call him “cringe” and they like to laugh at him and his career of being a rapper! The actor further revealed that there was a particular scene in The Family Plan where his character sings Vanilla Ice to his children. He revealed that his kids related to that particular scene the most.
“For them, it’s cringe. They definitely don’t want to hear that. They did get a big laugh out of that particular scene. They like to laugh at me,”
