The Boys, created through the pioneering efforts of authors Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, became a hugely popular series that impressed audiences with its bold satirical take on superheroes. Along with Antony Starr’s chilling Homelander and Karl Urban’s unrelentless Billy Butcher, the impressive ensemble cast also benefited from the presence of Laz Alonso as Marvin Milk.
Alonso is back once again in season 4 which premiered on June 13th on Amazon Prime. One significant change is the actor’s physical appearance that sees him in a much slimmer avatar, which by his own admission, was a conscious effort at getting fitter. Interestingly, this transformation was written into the narrative as part of his character, which was noticed by a hawk-eyed fan.
Laz Alonso Is Now Slimmer And Trimmer
One of the key characters who made up the gritty vigilante team headed by Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher in The Boys, was Marvin Milk aka Mother’s Milk played by Laz Alonso. Seen as someone who is practical and with a voice of reason, the character provides the perfect foil to Urban’s vengeful persona in the series.
Having played a significant role in the first 3 seasons of the show, Alonso is back once again for season 4 which premiered on June 13th, 2024. This time though, fans are witnessing a very different looking star who has shed weight considerably to showcase a much trimmer physique.
This has been a deliberate effort on the part of the celebrity to take care of his body. In a post on his Instagram handle, the Avatar star elaborated on a DNA test that he took from a company called BioSynergy through which he was able to understand what nutrients worked best for his health and fitness.
The actor also spoke in detail about understanding what was harmful for one’s body and how to go about avoiding this through better understanding of diet and fitness, which worked wonders for him.
Anything that you put in your body that your body doesn’t need, your body is just gonna excrete, but it just puts your body under unnecessary stress, having to filter out stuff that you didn’t need in the first place.
Alonso also revealed that the DNA test allowed him to comprehend what he was deficient in, thereby giving him a clearer picture on how to supplement these deficiencies, rather than taking in nutrients that his body did not need. His efforts expectedly did not go unnoticed as fans had words of praise for his dedication.
This Star’s Weight Transformation Is Cleverly Written Into The Boys Season 4
The highly anticipated season 4 of the Amazon Prime blockbuster series The Boys is currently underway, and fans have eagerly tuned in to see what’s in store in the war between the Supes and the vigilantes. One of the key recurring characters in the show is Laz Alonso’s Marvin Milk, who is seen looking much slimmer after a significant weight loss journey.
Interestingly, the actor’s transformation has been cleverly incorporated into the first episode of the season in which there is a reference to his character not eating in the show anymore in an effort to possibly address this weight loss. This was pointed out by a keen-eyed fan on X.
In the episode, MM is seen reading a book on OCD which fans would know, the character suffers from in the show. In addition, the stressful circumstances that he has been put though on a consistent basis could also be a possible reason for him not being enthusiastic about food.
They literally talk about how MM doesn’t eat anymore in the show

While Alonso has been very vocal about his journey to a slimmer physique and how his association with BioSynergy helped him created a healthier lifestyle for himself, a few netizens could be indirectly attempting to link his transformation to the use of Ozempic. This Type 2 Diabetes drug has been controversially in the news as an extreme weight loss medication that many Hollywood stars have admitted to taking.
Looks like several cast members either got plastic surgery or was on ozempic.. karl urban is carrying this franchise.
