A recent report has revealed that Take-Two Interactive has filed a trademark dispute against Remedy Entertainment in retaliation to the developer’s logo, claiming that it is similar to Take Two’s Rockstar Games logo. Both logos feature the letter “R” but many fans argue that it’s just a letter and that the lawsuit makes no sense.

This is not the first time Take-Two has come after a fellow competitor. The company filed a lawsuit against Hazelight Studios for the name of their game, It Takes Two, in 2021. In the end, Hazelight Studios had to give up the trademark for the co-op game. People believe that if this situation escalates to a proper lawsuit, Remedy Entertainment wouldn’t have a hard time as the logos aren’t completely similar.

As per RespawnFirst, Take-Two Interactive and Remedy Entertainment, two of the biggest gaming companies in the industry, are in a trademark dispute as Take-Two claims that Remedy’s logo is similar to Take-Two’s Rockstar Games‘ “R” logo.

Remedy Entertainment changed its logo earlier this year for the first time in 20 years, featuring the letter “R” which obviously stands for Remedy. People on social media see this dispute as an unnecessary one as they believe the logos aren’t even similar.

It is to be noted that Remedy Entertainment is currently working on a Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake with funding from Rockstar Games as they hold the rights. Fans found it hilarious that they are coming after the company that is working on their video game. The remakes will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. However, a release date is yet to be announced.

Although Take-Two won that battle, fans are sure that this dispute will be resolved soon with Remedy Entertainment keeping their logo. They believe that Remedy’s decision to simply use a letter, in addition to the lack of similarity between the two logos will prove enough to safeguard the company. Remedy Entertainment recently released its highly anticipated Alan Wake 2 while Rockstar Games has been hyping up the fans with the first trailer of GTA 6.
