Ever since the late 1970s, the craze of the Star Wars franchise has continued to grow and prosper, especially in recent years as new fans and old receive a steady dose of new content from Lucasfilm through the concluded Skywalker Saga as well as the expansion of the cinematic universe through their Disney+ offerings.
And for the foreseeable future, the expansion through its small-screen offerings will be the only mode through which fans will witness the greatness of the universe created by George and Anthony Lucas. And with the announcement of the live-action adaptation of Ahsoka, fans were excited to look forward to something new, until the trailer revealed something that sent fans into an excited frenzy.
Who Are The People That Wield Orange Lightsabers In Star Wars: Ahsoka?
With the success of the franchise being headlined by The Mandalorian in modern times, Disney and Lucasfilm have decided to invest their resources into these web series and mini-series to engage the fandom until they come up with something new they can offer in the main storyline of the Star Wars Universe. Thus, the inclusion of the upcoming Ahsoka series was also a step in the right direction, which seems to already have gotten fans hyped up after the new trailer went live.

The thing that has gotten the fans all worked up is the introduction of new characters that seem to wield an orange Lightsaber in their hands. The significance of the color of the laser goes back to the times when Darth Vader used to wield a bright crimson weapon and other characters had their own signature colors. While this could’ve been the case, their appearances, along with their use of The Force and the fact that they use the exact same colored sabers have intrigued the interest in them.
Many fans might remember that Lord Vader had trained Inquisitors, the people who specialized in hunting down Jedis who also looked like the aforementioned characters, but they wielded similar colored weapons to their master. Some have also suggested that these people can also be Siths from the Star Wars Univsere, which might suggest their outward appearance. Dave Filoni, the creator of the upcoming series also commented with a cryptic message on this topic. He said:
“I remember as a kid Darth Vader’s lightsaber kind of fluctuated … being a little bit orange … it’s identifying a little bit … that they might not be what you think they are in the beginning”
While the message has virtually no hint about the origins of these characters, it certainly gives the fans a reason to be excited about the upcoming series.

What To Expect From Star Wars: Ahsoka?
So far, the storyline for the upcoming Disney+ series seems to be set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, although no precise timeline is given. Here, we will see Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi, trying her best to keep the Galaxy safe from an emerging threat that was also not clearly stated. But looking at the trailer now, it seems like the people who wield these orange Lightsabers might be related to the aforementioned threat that the main character wants to eradicate.
