And seems like Stephen Amell, who is known for starring in the Arrowverse as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow has also picked a side in the ongoing debate. Followed by his show’s conclusion, Amell was seen in the final season of The Flash alongside other Arrowverse characters.

And with James Gunn developing a whole new universe for DC superheroes, there have also been talks of the potential recasting of Green Arrow. The Arrow star recently shared his opinions on the Oliver Queen recasting and James Gunn’s DCU.

Stephen Amell Talks About James Gunn’s DCU

James Gunn’s plan for the new DCU has been criticized by many, primarily for the recasting of several characters like Henry Cavill’s Superman. While there are also fans who are eager and excited about the new DC Universe, the Arrow actor Stephen Amell doesn’t seem to be among them.

During a recent live autograph signing on Whatnot, the Heels star shared his opinion on James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. He shared that he has been getting mixed messages about the whole situation, claiming that he wants nothing more than great movies.

“I don’t know, man. I don’t know. Those guys, the DCEU, they need to decide if they think that they’re better than television or if they want to participate. Because I get mixed messages.”

He also shared that he did his best as Green Arrow and wished everyone the best for what they have in mind regarding these characters. “I wish everyone nothing but the best. I want nothing more than amazing movies,” he said. While talking about the new DCU, Amell also addressed the potential recasting of his DC character.

Stephen Amell Calls Himself a Custodian For Green Arrow

Stephen Amell has starred in the superhero TV series Arrow for 8 seasons and was last seen alongside Grant Gustin in the final season of The Flash. And when he was asked about the potential recasting of his DC character under James Gunn’s new DCU, the actor had something interesting to say.

“I am a custodian for Oliver Queen, and [Grant Gustin] is a custodian for Barry Allen in the same way,” he said before adding, “I don’t think anyone’s asking Tom Welling how he feels about who’s going to play the new Superman.”

He stated that he is aware that there will be a new actor portraying Oliver Queen at one point, and he is sure that it would be “new and cool and exciting.” The Code 8 star also shared that he is sure whoever will be the new Green Arrow would do an amazing job.
