Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon Accused of S*xual Abuse
More than a year after the WWE founder, Vince McMahon, retired from his role amid investigations about his alleged misconduct, former WWE staffer Janel Grant accused him of severe allegations. Filing a lawsuit on Thursday, Grant accused McMahon of s*xual assault, trafficking, and physical abuse.
According to CNN reports, the lawsuit filed in Connecticut district court alleged that Vince McMahon promised to offer a job to Janel Grant with further promotions at WWE, in exchange for s*xual favors. The allegations also included that she was trafficked to other men inside and outside of the wrestling industry.

Addressing the lawsuit, Vince McMahon’s spokesperson issued a statement to Deadline. Claiming that the lawsuit was “replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and a vindictive distortion of the truth” the spokesperson said that McMahon will “vigorously defend himself”.
However, in the midst of notorious allegations against Vince McMahon, a former WWE writer’s interview from 2023 resurfaced, where he revealed McMahon’s perverted storylines for WWE segments.
Former WWE Writer Called Out Vince McMahon’s Perverted Storylines
Way before Janel Grant’s lawsuit, WWE founder Vince McMahon was accused of alleged misconduct while serving as chairman and CEO of the company. Investigations began in 2022, and later on McMahon retired from his role. However, following that incident, in 2023, former WWE head writer from the late 1990s Vince Russo gave his take on McMahon’s creepy and perverted storylines.
Speaking up during Sportskeeda exclusive The Wrestling Outlaws show, former WWE writer Vince Russo admitted being creeped out by Vince McMahon’s storylines. He opened up about how McMahon pressured his wife Linda and daughter Stephanie to kiss former WCW executive Eric Bischoff. Further, he spoke about McMahon abusing his powers to book Trish Stratus to strip during one WWE segment.
“If you are making women make out with you, guys make out with your wife, guys make out with your daughter, I don’t care what you say, there’s a perversion involved… because you’re writing it.” Russo spoke of McMahon.
“You put a woman in that situation, it’s different now, but back then you put a woman in that situation, it’s the boys’ club, it’s professional wrestling. Bro, they ain’t gonna say no. They’re not gonna say no. Linda McMahon’s not gonna say no. Stephanie McMahon’s not gonna say no. All those angles that Vince did with Trish and all those women, they’re not going to say no.”
Discussing the things that went majorly wrong with women in the wrestling industry back in the 1990s, Vince Russo implied how Vince McMahon used his power to pressure and book the women to do disgraceful acts. Russo admitted that back in the day female wrestlers like Trish Stratus found it difficult to overcome such situations because wrestling was more like a boys’ club.
