Although the My Hero Academia manga is over now, fans are still not quite satisfied with the finale the creator Kohei Horikoshi put out. Some decided to take matters into their own hands and started coming up with alternative theories that seem a bit more fulfilling to the community.

One popular theory has emerged, so convincingly good, that it could be better than the actual one. Now, the fanbase begins to debate: could this be the theoretical ending MHA deserved?

The Quirk No One Knew Deku Always Had: “Sharing Is Caring”!

This theory is probably not entirely new, as it has already been discussed before among the fans. However, it’s an interesting idea that is to be looked at. According to this theory, it will turn out toward the end of the manga that Deku has always had a Quirk, that he did not know of, just like the first user, the Luminescent Baby. According to a certain redditor, they deemed it the “Sharing is Caring” quirk!

We have already gotten an inkling of this possibility during the Heroes Rising movie where Deku tried to transfer his Quirk to Bakugo in a desperate attempt to stop the Villain- Nine. The transfer was accomplished by the two touching their fingers and exchanging blood.

So, this theory says Deku will again use his Quirk to pass his powers among his classmates by either giving each student a complementary Quirk or outright giving them the power to share all the Quirks with each other. This would bring victory for U.A. as one united team and the bond that has defined My Hero Academia to begin with.

However, Some Fans Are Strongly Disagreeing To This Theory

Not everyone is buying the “Sharing is Caring” theory though, as some fans strongly disagree with it. They further argue that creator Kohei Horikoshi has already said that Deku doesn’t have a Quirk—this being in direct contradiction to the central idea of the theory.

This disparity defines the difference in opinions between the My Hero Academia fandom in general, where some fans are very active in terms of supporting the theory and others are just against it.

What makes the debate quite interesting is the fact that the series is pretty complex at a lot of points, and several meanings can be fathomed from it. Since the theory doesn’t seem to stop, it will be very interesting to see how the fanbase will respond to it and whether Horikoshi will help quell this speculation in future interviews or content.

My Hero Academia is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
