After months of alleged tension between the couple, who have been reportedly living separate lives for quite some time now, Jennifer Lopez has finally pulled the plug on her marriage with Ben Affleck. In Lopez’s divorce filings from Affleck, there were no mentions of any prenuptial agreement, which would mean their earnings in the last two years would be classified as community property.

Considering it was Jennifer Lopez‘s fourth marriage and The Flash star’s second, one would assume a prenup would be pretty obvious. But per TMZ, the duo didn’t take that route, which means their earnings throughout their two-year-long marriage will be termed as community property. In these two years, the duo, whose joint estimated net worth stands at $640M, starred in several notable projects.

As for Ben Affleck, he starred in Air, Hypnotic, and also served as a producer on The Instigators, and just recently wrapped filming The Accountant 2. Lopez on the other hand has headlined Shotgun Wedding, The Mother, This Is Me … Now, and Atlas throughout their two-year-long marriage. Moreover, their $68M Beverly Hills Home is also at stake, with Affleck reportedly residing in a $100K monthly Brentwood rental.

According to her Tuesday divorce filings, which she filed in the absence of an attorney, the actress has waived spousal support and has asked the judge to deny Affleck’s as well. Per Insiders, their relationship is “gearing up for a messy divorce”, and Lopez is apparently out for blood as “She isn’t the one who gave up on their marriage”. The insiders further alleged she felt Affleck “mooched” off her wealth throughout their marriage and is looking to acquire half of Affleck’s riches.

Reflecting on her reported pursuit for financial recompensation from Affleck, one insider shared it was a direct response to the BvS star’s decision to leave the marriage. Having reportedly paid most of their marital expenses, the insider shared that had the actor stayed in the marriage “like a good boy”, Lopez wouldn’t have minded.

If he had stayed in the marriage like a good boy, she wouldn’t have minded. But he abandoned her and ultimately, Jennifer always gets payback and now she’s ready to play hardball.

While it’ll be interesting to see where things will be heading, as of now, it isn’t exactly looking pretty from an outside perspective.
