Over the years, the producer, writer, and actor for Nickelodeon, Dan Schneider, has been accused of being highly inappropriate with the child actors on the sets. Time and again, former Nickelodeon actors have spoken up about Dan Schneider, and now, a new documentary takes viewers deeper into the controversies, including the countless times when Ariana Grande was made to do questionable scenes during her time on the channel.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV aired just a few days ago on Investigation Discovery. The documentary highlights the toxic work environment that child actors had to go through while working. The series especially focuses on Dan Schneider’s time as a producer on Nickelodeon.

Now, allegations against Schneider for being highly inappropriate with child actors have been making rounds on the Internet since time immemorial. Several former Nickelodeon actors have spoken up about the producer’s behavior with them. iCarly fame Jennette McCurdy once stated in her memoir that the channel allegedly offered her $300,000 as hush money after “the Creator” pressured her into drinking wine and gave her massages, all while she was well underage.

Schneider has always been accused of subtly s-xualizing child actors through scenes that may seem innocent at first. Quiet on Set episode 1 saw some seriously inappropriate clips of Ariana Grande, who worked with Nickelodeon on Sam & Cat and Victorious. In one of the clips, Grande was pretending to “juice” a potato with both her hands while closing her eyes and making grunting noises. Needless to say, the video was highly suggestive in nature.

An actor reacted to the clip stating, “Did that air on Nickelodeon?” with another simply going, “Yikes.” The documentary presents yet another clip of Grande where she’s seen pouring water all over herself.

“In another video, Ariana was pouring water on herself in what seems like a very s-xual manner and people started saying that this feels inappropriate for children.”

While Grande’s clips were highly objectionable given the fact that she was on a kids’ show, the actress has not once spoken up about the allegations against Schneider.

After the clips found their way to social media, X in particular, fans were shaking with anger and disgust. Fans, who grew up watching Grande play the role of Cat Valentine 2, questioned how someone like Schneider has not been arrested yet, despite former actors speaking up against him. Many even called the producer a p-dophile.
