“Robert De Niro gave me a hug in the audition room. He’s the sweetest, gentlest man. And gosh, I learned so much from Anthony Hopkins [on the set of the action comedy Bad Company].”

Anthony Hopkins Took Gabriel Macht Under His Wing

Gabriel Macht told TV Guide, that it was Hopkins, who guided him during his early days in the film industry. The actor elaborated on this, stating that the Oscar-winning actor started their friendship off by asking him to call him ‘Tony’.

“He took me under his wing. He was like, “Just call me Tony,” and brought me into his trailer and we had Beluga caviar. I was like, “This is amazing!” He really taught me that you could be the biggest star in the world, but if you’ve got an ego, you’re nothing.”

Macht then revealed that the actor invited him into his trailer, while they were working together on the film, Bad Company, and they had Beluga caviar together, which he enjoyed. He then shared one of the biggest pieces of advice that Hopkins gave him, teaching him that to be successful, it is very important not to have arrogance.
