Bradley Cooper is popular among Marvel fans for voicing Rocket Racoon, a genetically altered, cybernetically enhanced raccoon. A regular fixture in Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, the wisecracking Racoon is a superhero, who started his journey as a protector of the Loonies.
However, many fans think Cooper might take an opposite path behind the scenes after yet another quiet awards night. The 49-year-old’s wait for a major award continues as he failed to win any Golden Globes for Maestro.
How Fans Have Reacted to Bradley Cooper Winning Nothing at the Golden Globes
Bradley Cooper co-wrote, directed, and starred in the biographical romantic drama Maestro, which chronicled the lifelong relationship of conductor-composer Leonard Bernstein and actress Felicia Montealegre (Carey Mulligan).
The film received four Golden Globes nominations, including Best Director and Best Male Actor (drama). The Star is Born director earned plenty of plaudits for capturing Bernstein’s life through the lens of his marriage. Still, that didn’t prove enough at the 2024 Golden Globes, as he missed out on both awards to Oppenheimer pair Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy.
Mulligan, meanwhile, was upstaged by Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone for the Best Female Actor (drama) award.
However, much of the focus on social media is on nine-time Oscar nominee Cooper, who continues to remain bereft of major honors.

According to a report from BGR, Maestro, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September, had a massive budget of $80 million – a big commitment for a movie that failed to stay in Netflix’s Top 10 (US) for a considerable period and has now returned home empty-handed from the Golden Globes.
How Netflix and Bradley Cooper Are Preparing for Oscar Night
Now, all eyes are set on the Academy Awards. The Oscar trophy has been teasing Cooper since 2013 – his first nomination came for Silver Linings Playbook – but so far, he has had no luck.
As per Page Six, a multi-million dollar campaign has been run by Netflix in their bid to see The Hangover star win the trophy.
A source told the outlet, “They are spending a ton of money to position ‘Maestro’ as a best picture contender at the Oscars.”
The movie is seen as a “passion project” of Cooper, who reportedly spent six years learning how to conduct, for a scene of just six minutes, recreating Bernstein’s tour de force with the London Symphony Orchestra.
As much as his efforts are praise-worthy, it’s tough to see Maestro enjoy a prolific night at the Oscars after drawing a blank at the Golden Globes.
