After a complete and utter failure, Rocksteady and WB Games are trying to bring Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League back to life. This live-service action game with a story mode has a lot of content available, ignoring the microtransactions and other not-so-polished content that this title has.

The game has recently launched season 1, which will have a new playable character, The Joker. This is a guide on how to unlock the Joker in the latest DC Comics title. This is the first of many new playable characters, all of which will come from an Elseworld, an alternate dimension.

With Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady has significantly deviated from the Arkham saga, focusing more on the looter-shooter aspect of the game than on its history or gameplay mechanics.

This level of detail prevents fans and critics from praising the game excessively, as it lacks the original mechanics that the Arkham series possessed in the past. Instead, the game is primarily an action game, featuring DC characters who can perform actions beyond their usual range. But Rocksteady has not given up yet with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and is trying to launch more content for the game.

In the first season of the game, The Joker will be the new playable character. This villain will not be the Joker from this universe; it will be from an Elseworld where the Joker wasn’t killed by Batman. This version of the clown prince of crime will be a much younger interpretation of the character, with little combat experience. Rocksteady give players a great opportunity to make this new possibility their own. These are the ways to unlock the Joker inside Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

There are two principal ways to unlock the character: first, you can pay 10 dollars with the premium currency of the game and unlock The Joker. But this is the same price that the Battle Pass costs, so it is not such a good deal. You can also unlock this character for free by playing the game. This will not be an easy task because you will need to level up a lot to reach the minimum required by the game to play this character.

The Joker has the opportunity to bring some life to the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

To have The Joker you will need to pass the “Rescue the Joker?” mission on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
To have The Joker you will need to pass the “Rescue the Joker?” mission on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

To unlock The Joker, you will need to complete the “Rescue the Joker?” mission. This assignment will appear on Metropolis in the first episode, Fear Nexus. But with every new Elseworld that you visit, the rank will reboot, and for you to unlock the mission, you will need at least Rank 35 in this Elseworld.

So once you are here, you will need to level up a lot. This could be done by playing the different raid missions, also called incursions, in this new version of Metropolis. After completing them, your Fear Rank will increase very fast.

With this new alternate reality, you will have a lot of new content to go through: new villains, new missions, new variant bosses, and a lot of new parts to unlock. When you finally reach rank 35, you will enjoy The Joker a little more. One of the main reasons Amanda Waller sends you after The Joker is the possibility of having him on your side; Brainiac is also attacking his reality.

According to Rocksteady Games, future seasons of the game will feature several new playable characters. Some rumors speculate about Killer Croc or even Batman, who will join Task Force X. WB Games has unveiled a roadmap for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, detailing all the future content additions. This is only the first season, and in the player base response, this could mean that the game is not entirely dead after all.

What are your thoughts about having The Joker as the first playable character on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
