Alan Wake 2 fans rejoice! With the announcement of the upcoming Night Springs expansion comes the announcement of a long-awaited feature for the popular title. Launching last year to critical acclaim, Alan Wake 2 took the world by storm.
However, one feature was missing that left players a little disappointed. But fret not because Remedy Entertainment is finally adding a photo mode feature to their popular horror game.
Alan Wake 2 is Finally Getting a Much Requested Feature
Photo mode has probably been one of the most popular gaming features of the last decade, plus every new third-person action-adventure game must have one. It’s a great feature, both for marketing purposes and for fans who just want to make cool screenshots of their favorite characters doing cool stuff.
Photo modes are so popular that PlayStation runs weekly photo mode showcases on social media to show off fan creations. Alan Wake 2 is one of the most visually impressive games to come out recently, so its lack of photo mode at launch was very interesting. How were fans supposed to show off their cool images? Simple screenshots do not do games like this justice.
Photo Mode, finally. I know, its been long time coming and we've been pestering the dev team about it and it finally got done. Its really fancy. https://t.co/rSVatxoz09 #alanwake #AlanWake2

So that’s why this news is so exciting. On top of getting a DLC expansion, we’re also getting an Alan Wake 2 photo mode. Finally, gamers will be able to show off Wake’s beard in all its scraggly detail.
Remedy Communications Director Thomas Puha shared the news via Twitter/X in a humorous post. He teased that the new mode is “really fancy.” Fans rejoiced in the comments, thanking the team for their hard work and dedication to the game, with the photo mode feeling like a nice cherry on top of an excellent experience.
Night Springs is Looking Like A Great Expansion
The DLC announcement is also very exciting, as it is slated for release on June 8, otherwise known at the time of writing as tomorrow! This is unique, as usually expansion announcements come months prior to release, but not in this case.
The trailer looks excellent, the late Lance Reddick introduces the location of Night Springs, a town that exists in a “countless number of parallel realities.” The story will feature returning characters from Control and Quantum Break, Jesse Faden and Jack Joyce.
Alan Wake 2 DLC promises to further connect Remedy’s supernatural franchise together. Gameplay is also showcased, with explosive shotguns and handguns as the main weapons of choice for our characters.
It has been an exciting day for Remedy fans, not only more Alan Wake 2, but more Control and Quantum Break as well. Along with the announcement of a photo mode, it’s a day of nothing but positives.
