Deadpool 3 is inevitably one of the most anticipated projects of this year, if not this decade, and Ryan Reynolds’ fame is pretty much skyrocketing through the same even before the film’s release. Yet, this fame could very likely come crashing down due to fan disapproval if one recently implied heavy accusation on him ends up proving to be true.
The writing credits for this upcoming Deadpool film were recently released, and in that was credited none other than our sweet Reynolds as the writer and producer of Deadpool & Wolverine. However, at the same time, this revelation has brought down upon him an accusation that could be a problem if proven true: Ryan Reynolds allegedly did improv on set during the WAG strikes.
Ryan Reynolds Alleged Of Doing Improv On Deadpool 3 Sets During WAG Strike
Deadpool 3 aka Deadpool & Wolverine is massively anticipated by fans, and almost every update has them crying out in joy. However, this most recent one doesn’t seem to have hit the mark and has seemingly taken a toll on the film’s lead, Ryan Reynolds, instead.
Recently, @cosmic_marvel on X presented the news to fans that Reynolds is credited as one of the writers as well as producer of the soon-to-be-released Deadpool 3.

While this news is all well and good, it has seemingly attracted a wrong allegation against the Free Guy star of having done scabbing by doing improv on his film while the Writers Guild of America (WGA) Strike was going on. As an X handle (@Jtaylor0_3) accused Reynolds on the platform:
I can say with utmost certainty this is because he was still doing improv on set and this is like a loophole to say he wasn’t scabbing https://t.co/fDHD6S4Qoj

As false as many fans would want this accusation to be, it is worth noting that Deadpool 3 was reportedly still in production until July 14, 2023, when the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) decided to join the people in the WAG strike.
For the record, the WAG strike started on the 2nd of May, 2023, during which the film was notably still in production (as reported by IGN). This hints that Ryan Reynolds may have still done improv on sets as an actor during this time period, which is why, he is now being a credited as a writer along with the producer of the project.
Since doing improv was something strictly forbidden during the Writers Guild of America strike, if this accusation turns out to be true, it could take a serious toll on both Ryan Reynolds as well as his upcoming presumed MCU masterpiece.
Ryan Reynolds’ Fans Jump To His Rescue From This Deadly Accusation
While this heavy accusation has drawn a liability on Ryan Reynolds that he needs to clarify soon, in the meanwhile, the actors’ fans are jumping to his rescue to share all the possible reasons why this allegation just might be proven wrong.
Commenting on the original tweet holding the accusation, here’s how they’re defending Reynolds:
Just chill, dude. Who tf cares for real?
You want people to shame Ryan for something he may or not have done?
Do you have anything at stake here?
This is a film everyone is excited for. Ryan has been doing right by his cast and crew members for ages.

OR… he’s just continuing the writing duties he’s had since Deadpool 2.

I believe improv would be scrabbling but from reports Ryan and crew stuck to the script during the strikes and for Deadpool when masked they can easily change lines with adr

nah he wrote for the last one. even if he was credited as a writer he wouldnt be allowed to improv on set
— ash (@ashsevildead) February 18, 2024
This was whole thing months ago when they stopped filming during the writers strike because he couldn’t improv (would be considered scabbing.) incredibly odd of you to accuse him of doing something we have documented evidence of him NOT doing.

Ryan was a credited writer before the strikes happened. Also not being able to improv on set was one the biggest things talked about when the strike happened so no it wouldn’t have been a loophole
— JK (@JKGoofygoober) February 18, 2024
If he was a writer then he wouldn’t be allowed to improv since half the movie was shot during the writers strike

On the one hand, while the possibility of the claim alleging Ryan Reynolds of having done improv on Deadpool 3 sets during WAG strikes is high, on the other hand, all these statements that fans have mentioned in the actors’ defense equally make the allegations seem false at the same time.
Thus, for now, the only one who can actually turn the tables on the accusers and prove all these allegations against him wrong is none other than Ryan Reynolds, whose official statement on the matter is yet to be released.
In the meanwhile, Deadpool & Wolverine will notably be hitting the theatres on the 26th of July, 2024.
