Jeremy Renner believes Marvel movies are not cinema
Jeremy Renner‘s The Hurt Locker is one of his finest movies and also one of the best war movies ever made. His portrayal of Sergeant First Class William James along with another MCU fame Anthony Mackie was appreciated by critics and audiences.
Speaking on the widespread love he got for The Hurt Locker, Jeremy Renner spoke to Men’s Health where he said that the experience was extraordinary. He received amazing treatment from many soldiers who praised the movie as a commendable portrayal of what they go through. He also remembered an experience where the movie helped to save a marriage from getting divorced.
As per the Avengers: Endgame star, a Marvel movie could never give him such an experience. It was not only about audiences just watching a movie. Many could feel and relate to it. The movie described issues that they could never explain to their friends and family.
“This is not cinema. We’re not talking about people sitting at this theater and eating popcorn and watching a movie. A different thing was happening. … It was amazing, man. I don’t get that out of a Marvel movie.”
Jeremy Renner also received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for the movie. However, it must also be remembered that the MCU movies made a massive contribution to the actor’s career. It can’t be said that the actor hates the MCU movies but the experience in The Hurt Locker was just different.
Jeremy Renner is recovering from his injuries
Jeremy Renner’s transition to the New Year wasn’t good as he faced a serious injury after being crushed by a 14,000-pound snow plow. The accident left Renner with more than 30 broken bones and injuries on the lung, ribs, and liver. The fans worldwide prayed for the actor’s speedy recovery and he responded to the treatments quite fast.
It seems like the actor has almost recovered completely as he was recently spotted at the Los Angeles Lakers game. The actor looked very healthy and cheerful. In an interview with CNN, he also admitted that his life had changed completely after the accident.
“I just feel very blessed and very lucky to be upright and walk around and to live life. I’m very, very clear. My life is really lean, if that makes sense. There’s no fat in my life anymore. I don’t have time for that. So, there’s something really beautiful about having that superpower.”
The actor is extremely happy with his fast recovery and has chosen to spend his time more wisely now. Jeremy Renner has also grown mentally very strong and the accident has taught him how to deal with pain.
