Eiichiro Oda Praises Godzilla Minus One

It has been pointed out many times that Eiichiro Oda has been a very busy man because of the constant schedule of uploading a weekly chapter of One Piece, which he has been doing for more than 20 years. However, Oda san managed to take some extra time to watch Godzilla Minus One, and he loved it. In his Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine, which was translated by @OP_Spoilers2023, He said:

“It’s the first time in my life that I’ve seen Godzilla!! Minus One!! Very interesting. The first one I watched after I got there was so interesting! The next target is ‘New·Godzilla’.”

Godzilla Minus One is One of the Best Godzilla Movies

The 2023 Japanese kaiju movie Godzilla Minus One was written, directed, and features visual effects by Takashi Yamazaki. Produced by Toho Studios and Robot Communications and distributed by Toho, it is the 37th film in the Godzilla franchise, Toho’s 33rd Godzilla film. The story of the film centers on post-World War II Japan, which is at its lowest point when a new crisis in the form of a monstrous creature born in the terrifying power of the atomic bomb emerges.

On November 3, which also happened to be the anniversary of the first Godzilla movie’s 1954 release, Toho held a theatrical release of the film in Japan to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the franchise.

Despite having a budget of less than $15 million, the movie brought in $46 million and won praise from critics. The movie was a finalist for Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards and was nominated for four awards at the 48th Hochi Film Awards, where Yamazaki won Best Director.
