Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness fell in love on the set of Correlli in 1995. They fell in love, and a year later they got married. Well, for over 27 years, Jackman and Furness have enjoyed a blissful marriage. Their happy marriage is evidence that age differences between partners don’t really matter. If something is right, it’s right!

And the tale of how they confessed their love to each other is simply wonderful. He wasn’t at all expecting her to share his feelings when the Logan actor confessed to having a crush on her.

Even after many years of marriage, they still seem to be very content, but what do viewers actually know about their love story?

First off, The Wolverine actor met his wife while filming Correlli, and he has once admitted that it felt “ridiculous and cliched” to fall for the “leading lady”.

Secondly, you would be wrong to assume that she is just the celebrity’s wife. She is thus, an actress and a person of extraordinary talent. Also, don’t forget to understand that she is incredibly wealthy.

How Did Hugh Jackman Confess His Love To Deborra-Lee Furness?

Since their marriage in 1996, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have been parents to two kids– Oscar Maximilian and Ava Eliot Jackman. Furness is considerably older than her husband, having been born on November 30, 1955, while her husband was born on October 12, 1968. Nevertheless, if ever there was proof that age is just a number, this is it (but, unfortunately, they have always had to defend their marriage).

Jackman has once discussed how pleased he was to have met Deborra-Lee Furness. In 2013, he stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“I was single when I met her, and she was single. I was happy being single. I was out of a difficult relationship I’d had through drama school, and it was tumultuous and hard. I’d been living off 120 bucks a week as a student until I was 26. Then, when I met Deb, it was 10 times better than my single life. She was very beautiful. She was unbelievably fun — this energy, this spirit — irrepressible.”

“She was sort of the opposite of me,” he further added. So does it really make sense that opposites attract? Or are they more alike than we might think?

The couple exchanged vows on April 11, 1996, less than a year after they first started dating. Jackman has often praised his wife and their relationship on social media.

In fact, The Wolverine actor once admitted that without his family, his success would be meaningless.

Why Hugh Jackman Was Embarrassed After Fallen For His Wife?

There is no denying that their relationship has always been a topic of discussion due to Hugh Jackman‘s celebrity status. But that does not mean Deborra-Lee Furness has not experienced success of her own.

She holds a number of credits as both a producer and an actress. These movies include Waiting (1991), Shame (1988), and the voice of ‘Barran’ in Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole (2010).

It’s interesting to note that Furness and Jackman first connected in their native Australia after being cast in the Correlli series. In this 1995 television show, Jackman played Kevin Jones, and Furness played Louisa Correlli. Well, also note that her star power was much greater than Jackman’s at the time. The 54-year-old actor confessed to PEOPLE:

“Deb, she was a big star. I get picked up, and Deb is in the front seat of the car. I’ll never forget. She took off her seatbelt and she turned around and put out her hand and took off her sunglasses and said, ‘Hi, I’m Deborra-Lee Furness, nice to meet you.’ I remember thinking, ‘I like this girl.'”

He continued:

“Deb and I were already best friends, and I realized, I’ve got a crush on my leading lady. This is the thing you do not do. It’s unprofessional and embarrassing.”

They have been content with each other ever since he was finally ready to express his emotions to confess his love to the 67-year-old Australian actress and producer.

Don’t you consider that to be some fruitful advice at this point? The hopeless romantic actor is definitely one to watch. He often praised his wife, saying how fortunate he was to have known her before experiencing great success in his acting career.
